Girls Basketball Teams at i9 Sports®

Girls basketball teams at i9 Sports focus on helping girls develop age-appropriate basketball skills and an understanding of both the rules and fundamentals of the game. Our girls teams, like all of our teams, focus on developing sportsmanship and friendships as well as athletic skills.

Every week on every team, one player gets selected for a sportsmanship award to celebrate learning, development, and love of the game.

What Do Girls Learn in Kids Basketball?

Our youngest girls team start with the absolute fundamentals of the game like running, dribbling, passing and shooting. They also learn the basic rules. As girls grow in their abilities and understanding, they learn more about what role each position plays, as well as more advanced basketball techniques.

Our girls basketball teams are beginner-friendly, so they’re a great way for girls to try out a new sport. For girls who have played before, they’re a great source of age-appropriate competition.

Girls Basketball Teams

Girls basketball teams are formed each season, and in many locations, are available year-round. Girls teams that gelled well in a prior season can choose to re-enroll in a new season. For girls who are excited to play but don’t yet have a team, our local staff can match them to a team where they can make new friends.

Girls can also sign up with a friend and request to be on the same team. Our goal is to build safe, fun, healthy teams where friendships can thrive.

Recreational Girls Basketball Time Commitment

Many of our girls basketball teams have practice one day per week, right before the game. This makes it easy for many of our busy families. Some of our locations offer mid-week practices and clinics for girls who want to spend more time learning and playing.
