PROGRAMS/REGISTRATION
What days are your sports offered?
We offer Leagues and Instructional programs Saturdays and Sundays.
Are practice and games at the same time every week or do they change?
For our Leagues, the start time can vary from week to week based on the number of teams in each age group. Though typically they will stay within the same 2–3-hour time window each week.
How long is a typical season?
Seasons are typically 6 weeks long.
What ages do you offer for each sport?
We offer the following sports and ages: Soccer – Age 3-12, Flag Football – Age 4-12, T-Ball/Baseball – Age 3-6, and Basketball – Age 4-12. Age is based on the last day of the season you are registering for. If the program you are registering for starts at age 3 then your child must be 3 by the final day of the season.
What Sports do you offer each season?
We offer 5 seasons throughout the year and multiple sports and venues each season. Here are the sports offer each Season: WINTER (Jan-Feb) -Indoor: Basketball and Flag Football. SPRING (Late Mar-May) - Outdoor: Soccer, T-Ball/Baseball and Flag Football. SUMMER (Mid June-Aug) - Outdoor: Soccer, T-Ball/Baseball and Flag Football. FALL (September-October) – Outdoor: Soccer, T-Ball/Baseball and Flag Football. LATE FALL (November-December) - Indoor: Basketball and Flag Football
What areas do you offer programs?
We have multiple locations throughout the area. We currently offer programs in the West Chester, Malvern, King of Prussia (KOP), Norristown and Eagleville area.
What grade level do I enter for the Summer and next Fall seasons?
When registering for the Summer & Fall seasons, please be sure that you are listing your child’s grade level as the grade they WILL BE GOING INTO at the start of the new school year.
Can I request teammates for my child?
We do our best to accommodate all buddy requests. If your buddy request falls into a different age group, we will contact you to discuss.
Can I bring in a whole team of players to i9 Sports leagues?
We will do our best to accommodate buddy requests within the same age/grade divisions. In order to accommodate Buddy Requests of 4 or more (groupings of 4 or more friends that want to play together), the group will need to provide at least one volunteer to help coach these players. Buddy Requests of 6 or more are subject to being broken up into 2 friend groups if the request hinders the league office from adequately balancing the age/skill level of the teams within a division. If you have questions, please feel free to contact the league office via email.
How late can I register and still join a team?
After the final deadline, any remaining spots will be filled on a first come, first serve basis & are subject to a late fee. We accept registrations up to 1 week after opening day, but once schedules are posted/teams are made, we cannot guarantee any Buddy or Coach Requests will be honored.
My player was placed on a waiting list. When will I know if my child gets a spot?
We will reach out VIA EMAIL if a spot becomes available. This happens if/when we are able to open up more teams in a division OR if other registered players drop out before opening day. Being placed on a waiting list does not guarantee a spot and no fees are paid when you join the waitlist. If/when we are able to open spots, they go to those that are on the waiting list in the order that they joined the list. To guarantee a spot for the season, look at other venues nearby that do not yet have a waitlist. Indoor sports are limited on time and space and MAY SELL OUT before the final deadline, so be sure to register early to both save money and reserve a spot for your player.
Who are the Coaches?
Our coaches are all volunteers, typically a family member of a player on the team, who must pass a yearly mandatory background check. Our coaches are provided with i9 Sports culture training, sports-oriented training, weekly practice plans and skills videos, and an array of other resources to make sure players are learning sportsmanship, how to be part of a team and the basic fundamentals of their chosen sport. Along with this, we have staff members on the fields/courts to assist coaches as needed.
Is this a good program for special needs players?
We are an inclusive league. Our coaches are volunteer parents and most will not have any experience working with special needs kids. We ask that a parent or relative of the special needs player volunteer to be an assistant coach so that they can ensure that their player and the rest of the players on the team are having a good time while learning about each other’s differences. We always recommend emailing the league office so that you can speak with one of our Program Directors so we can help plan for the upcoming season and make sure it would be a good fit.
I’m not sure if my child will like it. Can we come for just one day to try it as a trial?
We are not able to offer trials as when you sign up you are taking a spot on a team. If you are unsure if your child will like it or is ready to participate, you can bring them to a practice/game TO WATCH in a current season, before signing up for the next season. Email the league office to find a venue operating near you.
What is your refund policy?
There will be no refunds after the deadline. If for any reason your child can no longer participate, we can apply credit to your i9 Sports account or transfer your child’s registration to another sport or a future season. i9 Sports credits are not guaranteed once the season starts.
DURING THE SEASON
What kind of snacks should I bring for my child’s team?
When you sign up for snacks, you will get an email with the number of kids on the team and some fun pinterest suggestions. BUT, it can be as simple as you want. A cold drink (i.e.water, gatorade, juice box), something to eat such as fruit snacks, cookies, chips. Just think, what does my child like to snack on.
How will I know where to go on the first day?
Schedules are released 7-10 days prior to opening day. Additionally, we will send you an email a few days before opening day with all the information you will need to start the season. On arrival, you can go straight to your field or court. We will also have staff in Navy i9 Sports STAFF shirts at the main red canopy/table if you have any questions.
Do you hold weekday practices for leagues?
i9 Sports leagues are based on fun for kids and convenience for parents. We DO NOT schedule week day practices. All practice is held right before the game on game day. If practices are being scheduled during the week, feel free to let us know so we can address that with the coaches.
What happens when games are canceled due to weather?
There are weather make-up dates built into the schedule. If we lose a weekend of games to weather, we will make them up either with a double header game or on the rain out make-up date. We will do the best we can, but we cannot control the weather. Because of all of the costs built into running the leagues, we cannot provide refunds for dates missed. We will do all we can to make all the games happen.
JERSEY/MERCHANDISE
When will I receive my jersey?
For all league play, your coach will hand out your reversible jersey on opening day. A jersey is included in the price of league registrations.
