Frequently Asked Questions
Program Information
Why isn't the location and schedule listed in the program details?
VENUE locations and play times CAN CHANGE FROM SEASON TO SEASON. Exact times or locations of the programs are provided 10-7 days before the program starts. WE CAN NOT provide this information before the schedule and rosters are released. While we aim to keep venues within a 20-minute drive of the city center, some locations may be in neighboring areas due to availability. Please understand that we do not provide refunds for change of location.
What if my children are in different age divisons?
The younger child can play up in age if within a 1-2-year age gap. Playing down is NOT allowed due to safety and liability concerns.
Coaching and Volunteering
Will there be a Photo Day?
Not all programs include a Photo Day. If it’s not on your schedule, photos won’t be available that season. If you cannot attend Photo Day, contact the photo company for make-up options.
What is included in the coach's bag?
The coach’s bag contains the roster, jersey sizes, sportsmanship medals, and practice/game equipment and is available for pickup on Opening Day at the i9sports table.
I am a coach. Can I select my players?
We do not build roster players based on the Coach’s request. Roster requests come from parents/guardians, not coaches. While we try to meet special requests, they are not guaranteed, and refunds are not provided if requests cannot be fulfilled.
Can coaches hold extra practices?
i9 Sports does not sanction extra practices and cannot be held liable for them.
What should I do if I am unable to coach a game?
We recommend reaching out to the team for assistance; usually, another parent can step in for the weekend. The i9 Sports Mobile Coaches App provides drills, practice plans, and videos.
What if I am coaching two coaches?
We work to avoid game-time conflicts for coaches managing multiple teams by not overlapping schedules to accommodate both teams.
Do I need to provide any equipment as a Coach?
i9sports provides all necessary equipment, including practice and game balls, cones, and any field/court supplies.
What do I do if we do not have enough players to play?
When you don’t have enough players to field a full team, we still encourage the players who are available to show up and play. Typically, the other team can lend players if they have extras. However, please note that if your team uses players from another team, it will be recorded as a forfeit for your team.
How do I become a Coach?
Complete the volunteer application at https://www.i9sports.com/coaching/volunteer-application and a background check. This process takes less than 15 minutes. Once cleared, you’ll gain roster access and can introduce yourself to your team.
Rosters
How are teams organized?
Our philosophy regarding teams being balanced is to create Team Rosters by skill level, with a mix of Advanced, Intermediate, and Beginner players. This approach provides a fair playing field for all participants and enables some athletes to become leaders and help others grow in the sport. We also consider buddy and coach requests, school locations, and registration dates.
Can siblings play on the same team?
Yes, siblings in the same age division can play together if listed as a buddy request. Check the "Age As Of" date in program details for eligibility.
Can team parents access rosters?
For safety reasons, only coaches who pass a background check have access to team rosters.
Equipment and Uniforms
How are jerseys distributed?
Jerseys are given to players by the coach on Opening Day and are not shipped.
What if my merchandise doesn't fit or hasn't arrived?
For merchandise issues, contact Franchise Headquarters at (813) 324-2000 or email CustomerService@i9sports.com.
Are there restrictions on footwear?
For indoor programs, tennis shoes are recommended, and for outdoor programs, rubber-soled cleats or tennis shoes are preferred.
Games and Championships
What day are Games and Practices?
i9sports prides itself in being convenient for all families. All practices are scheduled right before your game on the same day. Coaches may arrange additional practices if desired.
What if my schedule says "TBD" for a game?
Championship game schedules remain "TBD" until final scores are entered from the last game and the schedule is finalized. Times listed are possible play times; each team will only play one game that day.
When are Championship games held?
Championship games are part of our 7-week seasons, held during Spring, Outdoor Fall, and Winter Indoor seasons. Updated schedules are released the Tuesday before games, based on final scores.
Additional Policies
Can credits or registrations be transferred to another franchise?
No, credits or registrations are non-transferable between franchises.
What if I register after the deadline?
Late registrations may limit buddy or coach requests, especially if joining from the waitlist.
What if programs are combined?
In cases of low registrations, we may merge programs while aiming to keep locations within a 20-minute drive of the original area.
